Will This Be Your Year?

January 1st, 2008

RE: An interesting fact that could help you Now…

According to a poll, these are the top 10 resolutions
made almost every year:

–Spend More Time With Family And Friends
Exercise More
Lose Weight
–Quit Smoking
Write My Book
–Quit Drinking
Get Out Of Debt
–Learn Something New
Help Others
–Get Organized

Ouch. Did I hit a sore spot? Chances are I probably
did with a few of you (maybe with many of you).

Because we’ve all made a steadfast, I’m-gonna-really-
do-it-this-time resolution…yet failed to follow up on it.

Present company included :)

I can remember one New Year’s Eve when I promised
myself (and everyone around me) that I would
absolutely, positively, spend less time at the office.

And guess what happened? Yep. Just a few days later, I
was back doing the same ol’ thing again. And my
resolution fizzled out faster than a firecracker on the
Fourth of July.

Truth is, it takes something special to follow through with
a resolution. Not more work. Not more effort. Not more
time…

What it really takes to finally follow through and reach your
goal - is ‘insight’.

You can do anything, if you learn the insights - the loopholes,
the strategies, which others have used to reach similar goals.

So what about you? Did you make a resolution this year?

Maybe it was to lose weight. Or improve your health. Or
get a better job. Or learn a new skill.

All these are fantastic goals, and well worth trying to
achieve. But the problem is, they rarely stick.

Why? Because most of the time we don’t take a look
around and find others to learn from… others who have
already achieved what we want to achieve and now have
a SYSTEM in place to produce results time and time again.

For instance, if your goal is to spend more time with
family and friends, you can’t just say, “By golly, I’m
gonna do it!” and expect to see results.

You need a system to help you make specific changes in
your life to find that time. And unfortunately, time is
something that’s not at all forgiving. You only get so
much, and that’s it.

But what if I could show you a system that can give you
that cherished extra time with your loved ones?

And what if this method could not only offer you that
extra time, but also a way to escape the 9-5 ball and
chain?

And what if this tried-and-true process could possibly
even create a whole new life for you, filled with
wealth, freedom, and a legacy that could provide for
your children long after you’re gone?

Interested? Good, because I’ve accomplished all that–
and more. And it all started with just one single step.

Everyday I Write The Book…

December 31st, 2007

Do you remember that old Elvis Costello tune?

I hadn’t thought of it in years until I was writing
this, but it fits in ao well with the subject at hand…

Because when we last left off, I was telling you about
how I was trying to find a way to teach my innovative
body transformation system to a greater number of people.

Then a mentor told me to write a book about it, and it
was like a light bulb turned on in my head.

But that wasn’t the first time I had thought about
writing a book…in fact, I had already started one.

Sort of.

It’s like this…back in college, my interest in
health, fitness and nutrition was really starting to
blossom, and I had a lot of thoughts and ideas that I
wanted to get across.

So I decided to write a book. I clacked out my Table of
Contents and the first chapter in record time. Then I
set it aside to finish later.

And guess what happened? Yep–there it stayed in all
its dust covered glory for 12 solid years.

Every once in a while I would look at it and think,
“Man, I really need to do something with that.” But I
never did.

Then I heard those fateful words from my mentor:
“Everyone in this room has a book inside your head, and
it’s time to bring it to life”.

He was right. My book was right there, just waiting to
bust out. All I needed was to get it on paper and do
something with it.

I was so pumped up. I couldn’t wait to get home and
finish my best seller. And then something horrible
happened.

I actually GOT home. And real life set in.

Emails, phone calls, meetings, appointments…they all
took precedence over my project. So back to the shelf
it went.

Fast forward to a few years later. I was talking with a
friend about how to be more productive during my day.

He suggested that I start waking up an hour earlier
every day to read something inspiring. It was a great
idea, so I began to do it.

And after a few weeks, I had a thought. “Why don’t I
pick up on that project again and do some writing in
this hour?”

So I did. And once I got the first few paragraphs down,
it was like a dam broke.

The book that had been bursting to get out for so many
years was finally being loosed from its chains, and 18
days later I had a finished manuscript.

That manuscript eventually ended up becoming a best-
seller. And today, I’ve parlayed that one book into a
global organization that has helped millions of people
worldwide not only succeed in their health and fitness
goals, but in their business building goals as well.

There’s a LOT more to the story than that. But the
point I’m trying to make is, all this should have
happened WAY earlier than it did.

I spent a lot of years with this book inside of me,
just waiting to be released. I was that close to major
success, freedom from the everyday workplace, and
becoming an established authority in the health and
fitness field–but I had no idea.

So what about you? What kind of a book do you have
inside you? Is it trying to break out?

Or have you started and stopped so many times, you’ve
lost count? And now when you think about it, you simply
and sigh and whisper, “Some day I’ll finish that.”

Well, I’m here to tell you that you CAN pull out that
book and turn it into a best seller. And I’m living
proof that it can happen.

Wanna know how I did it? Cool–step right this way…

http://www.AutomaticBestseller.com

See you inside…

Chris

P.S. Let me ask you a quick question: If you were to
write a book what would it be about?

And what would be different in your life if that book
became a bestseller?

Because I can show you how to take your book idea and
turn it into a bestseller in a very short time–without
a lot of money or hard work. I’ve done it over and over
again with great success. And I know you can too.

A Holiday Lesson…

December 25th, 2007

First of all, Happy Holidays! I really hope you had
a wonderful holiday with family and friends!!!

As for me… I just put the kids to bed after enjoying
a terrific Christmas day, full of love, good food,
presents, and loads of laughter…

It was quite a day, one of those that stays in your
memories for a long long time.

…and I’m truly grateful for that, in fact more
grateful than I’ve ever been, so much so that I really
felt the need to sit down in front of the fireplace
with my laptop in hand and write you a quick note.

So the following is sort of a “Christmas lesson”
combined with a heartfelt “Thank you”…

Read on and I’ll explain.

As I sit here thinking about my life, and all the great
things that happened today, I’m thankful for a LOT
of things…

Thankful for a loving, supportive wife who always puts
our family first…

Thankful for 2 amazing kids who bring a smile to my
face no matter what else is going on around me…

Thankful for the success of my books and my
television show…

…and thankful for you, and the millions of others,
who regularly read my newsletters, attend my seminars,
and constantly keep me striving to provide better
content.

But here’s a dirty little secret…

My goal wasn’t to have a TV show, or books, or a
newsletter, or any of that stuff! My only goal, the
one that’s driven me for the past 17 years has been
“to help the greatest number of people to live the
life of their dreams.”

Really!

I know it might sound a little hokey pokey, but if
you dig into the Vision Statements of any of my
companies for the past 17 years - they’ve all been
built around that same statement.

All I’ve really ever wanted to do was to help people
achieve their goals…like better health, increased
confidence, and greater personal success.

And by following this passion, I’ve inadvertently,
almost accidentally, built up a global organization
that positively affects the lives of millions of people
around the world.

So as I sat today, watching my kids open their
presents, I got all misty eyed…because I’m actually
living my dream.

Now don’t get me wrong - I’m not bragging here! It
wasn’t always this way… in fact, not too long ago,
if you had told me I would be living the life I’m
living today, being able to reach out and touch
millions of people every year– I would have
laughed.

You see, there were times when I wanted to give
up…times when it was a struggle to get out of bed
and face another day…times when I really didn’t
know if this entrepreneur thing was going to fly.

But I stuck it out. I focused on the end goal, instead
of my current situation, and made it a point to take 1
simple action step each day to get me closer to my
goal.

And every day I did that, I gained momentum. Slowly at
first, but picking up…bit by bit…until that momentum
turned into a virtual racehorse, speeding towards my
personal and professional goals.

The result? For the past several years, I’ve been blessed
to be able to host several large holiday parties - first for
groups of families who can’t yet afford to have a holiday
celebration of their own - second, for my staff who work
day and night helping my clients to achieve more with their
lives …

…and final - the big payoff for me, which is my family
get-together. The holiday party that family and friends
drive-in, and fly-in to be part of. What a blessing to be
able to share!

I know this isn’t the normal email you get from me but
if you bear with me, I promise it’ll change your life.

All this began by taking that one step each day to reach
my goals and live my dream.

So as you look back on your holiday, give thanks for
all the good things in your life, and think about what
steps you’d like to take in 2008 to achieve YOUR goals.

Because you too can live your dream…just like me,
and just like all those who set their focus on reaching
their goals by helping others reach their!

You should read that last sentence 4, 5, 10 more
times - it’s that powerful - because when you follow
a plan to build your ‘dream life’ by helping others
to live their dream life - everything becomes easier.

Take a moment right now and list 3 things you’d
like to achieve in the new year?

Maybe you’re wanting to break away from the J-O-B. Or
finally shed those extra 20 pounds. Whatever it is,
write them down. Then start thinking about the steps
you need to take to finally achieve them.

I guarantee you–just getting them down on paper will
make you feel great. Because you’ve taken action. And
in that one simple action, you’re one step closer to
achieving those goals.

So go do that right now, and we’ll talk again soon…

Weight Loss Lessons From NASCAR…

November 12th, 2007

Have you ever been on a diet or a workout program - done really well for a time, but then “something” happened that took you off-course, and you didn’t reach your goal?

Did the diet fail you?

Did the exercise program fail you?

Did you fail?

Come on - really think about this…

The answer is No to all of the above.

More than likely, the diet was fine, the exercise program was fine, and you did a great job - at least for a time :)

You see, Life Happens - and life happens to all of us, in every area of our lives, and it will always happen -> and those of us who stay focused, reach our goals, and are seen as ‘lucky’ by all those who gave up.

Take my NASCAR venture for example -> on January 1st, we’ll be going live with a new, interactive health site that will be unlike anything you’ve ever seen, with international (automatically translated) chat rooms so you can create a powerful support group from around the world no matter what language everyone speaks, and you’ll see their chat in your own language… as well as the most cutting edge live, video coaching programs to help you stay in-the-loop with all of the latest health and wellness information in real-time.

I can’t get too specific with all that we’ll be giving you in the site - yet, however, I promise to bring you up to date as soon as I can.

…as I sat watching the Nextel cup race, looking for the car we sponsored to help tell the world about this amazing new web site - I was amazed to learn that it takes more than a fast car to qualify for the race… it takes something called owner points (or something like that).

OK - I have to admit, I was shocked to see that, at the last minute, we didn’t qualify to be in the race… so my friends, you may not have seen the car in the race - but I promise that you’ll see the site on January 1st, AND you’ll see the car in several more NASCAR races in 2008.

I’ll keep you information!

Unstoppable Motivation - Part 1 of 2

January 1st, 2007

In order to get things accomplished in life we must set goals — that’s just a given. But where most people go wrong, is when setting these goals, they mistakenly believe all they need is a little motivation and everything else will simply fall into place.

It should be so easy! How many times have you felt so motivated by a charismatic speaker or a sure-fire motivational seminar that you thought you could even walk on fire if you put your mind to it… only to find yourself right back where you started just a few days later. Well, you’re not alone…

The reason most motivation techniques ultimately fail is because motivation is a two-fold process. What many people don’t know is there are two vital levels of motivation and most motivational programs only scratch the surface, teaching you just one level then sending you off to fend for yourself.

The key to developing what I call Unstoppable Motivation is to learn both levels of motivation — Internal and External. In this article I’ll show you a powerful technique to consistently and permanently develop Internal motivation. In Part two, you’ll learn the secret to mastering External motivation. Since losing weight seems to be the number one goal on many people’s list, I’ll use it to show you how to effectively reach your goals; but remember, this technique will work with any goal you set for yourself.

The first way to develop unstoppable motivation is to make use of what I like to call Powerful Reasons. This sets up an amazing internal motivational network within you so you’re absolutely driven to reach your goals. In fact, this technique has helped so many people to literally catapult themselves through all of their past obstacles — all the way to absolute success —I have given this technique a nickname— B.H.A.R.

B.H.A.R. stands for Big Hairy Audacious Reasons to reach your goals. One of the most profound things I’ve learned when it comes to motivating people is that in order to get and stay motivated, you absolutely must have a list of powerful Big Hairy Audacious Reasons for WHY it’s necessary for you to reach your goal — however big or small that goal may be.

If you set weak reasons like “I just think I’d look better if I was a size smaller”, or “Because my husband or wife always complains about me being too fat”…then your body will never be permanently lean, tight, strong, sexy, or even healthy — in fact, you’ll be doomed to fighting with your weight for the rest of your life.

However, if you set powerful Big Hairy Audacious Reasons for why you absolutely must reach your goal (and stay there), you’ll reach your goal faster than anyone else and the results WILL be long-term rather than the normal, short-lived, fleeting results most people have experienced in the past…

Examples of what I consider to powerful B.H.A.R’s:

“To set a strong example for my children”

“So my husband stares at me instead of staring at other women”

or “To have the energy to do ANYTHING it takes to succeed at ANY TIME”.

Now, these are some bold, powerful reasons to reach your goal weight! But you need to personalize your own list — think about what’s truly important to you. List as many reasons as you can because it’s very important to have a whole list of powerful reasons when you’re setting goals. If you have just one great reason driving you toward your goal, eventually the time will come when that reason gets a little foggy or something else pops up in life that’s so vital, it temporarily takes your focus off your goal.

If your spouse loses their job for example, it can be tragic but it’s going to be much more tragic if you compound that with the stress of being overweight, or lacking enough energy to hold your family together, or missing out on all the mental clarity that comes with being in great physical shape. Ultimately, having one person in the family with clear mental focus may be the lever that turns that family around and provides ideas to put the family back on its feet. Being in great shape leads you to success in every area of your life. This is a Universal Law! And this law states “when your body is working at peak efficiency, so is your mind”, and this peak efficiency allows the body and mind to work as one. And when your body and mind work as one, great magical things happen in every area of your life.

Now, it’s your turn… think of at least three Big Hairy Audacious Reasons for why you want to reach your goal. Write them down before you go to sleep tonight and then read them every morning when you wake up … starting tomorrow. If you do this, you will already be half-way to meeting your goal.

In Part 2 of this series, I’ll show you how to access the most powerful external motivator that will help you to be successful in reaching your goals, and allow you to remain successful for good…

Is Beef Protein Better Than Fish For Satiety And Weight Control

July 22nd, 2006

A recent study reported in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition concluded that the protein from fish helped increase overall satiety.

This is highly significant in the weight loss industry, as well as for all those who have a desire to lose weight, burn fat, increase their metabolism, or have more energy.

However, it wasn’t noticeable in the meal which that protein was consumed in. It was noticeable in the following meals that day.

Here’s the report.

Enjoy…

Background: Previous studies have indicated that fish protein may have a greater effect on satiety compared to other protein sources of animal origin.

Objective: To compare the effects of fish protein and beef protein meals on hunger and satiety.

Design: Twenty-three normal non-smoking, healthy males aged 20–32 years, body mass index 22.51.8 (s.d.) kg/m2 participated in a study, with within-subjects design and 1 week between test days. In the morning of the test days, subjects received a standardized breakfast. Four hours after breakfast, subjects were served an iso-energetic protein-rich (40 energy % protein) lunch meal, consisting of either a fish protein dish or a beef protein dish. Four hours after the start of the lunch meals, an ad libitum standardized evening meal was served and the intake of food was measured. Appetite was rated by visual analogue scales (VAS) immediately before and after the meals, as well as every hour between the meals. After the evening meal until bedtime, subjects were asked to record in detail foods and drinks consumed.

Results: The repeated VAS-ratings of hunger, satiety and prospective consumption were modelled in a random effects model, taking pre-lunch VAS-ratings into account. After the fish meal, the point estimates were lower for hunger (-24.8), higher for satiety (8.76.0) and lower for prospective consumption (-4.94.7), but they did not reach statistical significance (P satiety=0.88; P hunger=0.15; P prospective=0.30). However, the energy intake at the evening meal displayed significant differences with subjects eating less after the fish protein lunch (2765 vs 3080 KJ, P<0.01) without feeling less satiated. No later energy compensation after the evening meal was found on the test day.

Conclusion: Although no significant differences in VAS-ratings of satiety or hunger were detected, subjects displayed an 11% reduction in energy intake at the subsequent evening meal.

Brown Fat Helps Weigth Loss

June 15th, 2006

Brown fat is a metabolically active form of fat involved with heat production. It’s involved in triglyceride metabolism, and it is activated by thyroid hormone and appears to respond to vitamin C, zinc, and copper.

While the role of brown fat is not entirely understood, it seems to produce a hormone that promotes rapid burning of the fuels in foods - thermogenesis.

The more brown fat a person has, the better his or her body is able to produce heat and, in turn, burn calories. Brown fat thus becomes useful in weight control and weight loss.

It’d been observed that those people with little brown fat have a “freezer” type metabolism. They don’t burn foods well, and a lot of what they eat turns to ordinary fat. If they don’t do anything to increase their thermogenesis, even a small number of calories - as few as 600 per day - may be too many.

People with a lot of brown fat have a “furnace” type metabolism. They burn body fuels rapidly, and the more they consume, the more they burn, all the while maintaining a stable weight. These people seem able to eat all kinds of foods and remain slim. The more fuel they throw into the system, the more they burn, just like coals on a fire.

You may have noted in the past, that if you go out for a big meal at night and sit down afterward in a coat or sweater, you feel warmer than you normally would. That’s because your body is burning the foods you have eaten and is producing heat.

Those with a freezer type metabolism won’t notice this phenomenon because their bodies not burning the fuels as they should. This can be the reason why some can lose weight on the stereotypical the high protein and low carb diets, while others can’t.

Genetics seems to play a role in how the body handles brown fat.

At autopsy every individual is found to have minute deposits of brown fat around the kidneys and the main artery out of the heart. But there are ways to change the percentage of brown fat in the body. Although I certainly do not advocate caffeine intake, some research suggests that caffeine stimulates brown fat by increasing the metabolic rate.

Caffeine should not be used for weight loss however. It does other things that are not as positive. It can cause heart palpitations (especially in high amounts), and it robs the body of certain vitamins and other nutrients, such as C and B.

Another way to increase brown fat metabolism is to exercise - specifically, to engage in aerobic exercise that uses oxygen. To be effective this exercise must raise the pulse rate in a certain way - see the workout in Maximize Your Metabolism.

Such exercise as brisk walking increases the thermogenic effect of brown fat by about 4 percent, and that’s an encouraging amount. a half-hour of vigorous walking four times a week can be very rewarding from a metabolic standpoint.

Other effective forms of aerobic exercise are running, bicycling, swimming, jumping rope, and rowing.

Non-caffeine supplements such as fatty acids also improve brown fat metabolism.

On the other hand, too much sodium in the diet can deactivate the brown fat and promote water retention with consequent weight gain.

Transforms Your Daily Experiences From Average to Amazing

May 30th, 2006

If you’re like most busy people, you take care of everything else before you take care of YOU. You rush around putting out fires and addressing the “urgent” matters in your life.

But if you go about your day-to-day activities, with little or no regard for what you’re doing to your body, your energy starts to slip away. This downhill slide can go on for weeks, months, even years.

Sooner or later, you notice you’re winded after climbing a few flights of stairs. Or that you’re working twice as hard to come up with good ideas or solutions. And that it takes an entire weekend to recover from a hard week at the office.

But instead of doing something about it, you shrug it off, thinking it’s normal.

Well, it might be “normal” according to our society’s standards, but it’s definitely not natural.

Your natural state is to have an abundance of energy all day – every day, from your teens, to your thirties, well into your golden years.

Thankfully, you can return to that natural state. You can get back every bit of the zest for life that you’ve lost. And when you do, you’ll be well on your way to achieving all of your goals.

Why? Because energy stimulates action. Think about what your life is like when you’re alive with energy…

Your creativity soars. Your relationships are healthier and more fun. You body is in far better shape. Ideas and next actions for your projects come more easily. You’re inspired. Enthusiastic. Fearless. Confident. Unstoppable.

You literally radiate a powerful magnetic energy that attracts the things you desire.

Let me show you how to radiate that level of energy every day of your life.

Vitamin Supplements

April 25th, 2006

Every day your body requires a certain amount of nutrients to enable you to maintain a healthy diet and active lifestyle. Each person, depending on their age, gender, and medical history, requires specific daily quantities of nutrients. However, despite varied individual requirements, there are ways that the average public can ensure that they follow a nutrition plan that is not only comprehensive, but effective.

There are many ways that you can ensure that you maintain a balanced daily diet. Some people compliment their diet by taking supplementary vitamins, minerals and other nutrients, to be certain that they have made up their recommended daily requirements; but before you choose to take supplements, you should also make certain that you understand the basics of food nutrition so you can monitor your food diet, and select the proper supplements to go with it.

The human body requires macronutrients - protein, carbohydrates fats, vitamins and minerals. Typically, when the average person thinks of carbohydrates and fats they envision gaining weight, eating greasy foods and clogging their arteries.

This general public conception is not entirely a myth, because the problem suffered by many Americans with macronutrients is that their intake includes far more protein, fat and carbohydrates than their bodies require. In fact, the average American consumes about 50% more than the recommended daily amount.

Due to this over indulgence of high fats and proteins, many Americans are now dealing with weight problems that motivate them to take on a range of fad and/or starvation diet programs; which are usually dangerous and unhealthy options that result in losing weight at the cost of suffering malnutrition. This includes the current wave of low-carb diet trends.

Although this has become an increasing problem in society, macronutrients are required by the human body. When taken in their recommended small servings, protein (milk, fish, eggs, meat and cheeses), carbohydrates (grains, potatoes, fruits and vegetables) and Fats (olive, sunflower and vegetable oil), help your body to heal by repairing the damaged tissues of cells, as well as provide you with plenty of energy.

Protein, for example, is comprised of amino acids. Amino acids help to maintain, and strengthen your internal organs, skin, blood, nails, and your muscles. Your body actually produces amino acids on its own and next to water, protein is the most plentiful substance in the body. This being the case, your body does not require large portions of any one macronutrient, vitamin or mineral; it simply needs balance.

Like the average American, you probably lead a very busy lifestyle, and therefore, balancing your diet and eating healthy is not an easy task for you to accomplish on a daily basis. So taking vitamin supplements is how many choose to aleviate this.

Try looking at your diet before opting for supplements. Instead of having a few large meals during the day, try to eat smaller portions every few hours so you can allow your body time to digest and properly absorb the nutrients. Focus on eating slowly, and ensure that you keep your body active by exercising regularly.

Breakfast, as you’ve probably heard, is considered by many health researchers to be the most important meal of the day; unfortunately, it is also the most highly skipped meal of the day. Breakfast is the best way for you to start your day, by giving your body the energy it needs to get going.

It has been proven that breakfast helps to replenish blood glucose levels, which is important since the brain itself has no reserves of glucose, its main energy source, and constantly must be replenished.

Before you go to work in the morning, sit down, have a few egg whites and some complex carbs, and discover how energized you will feel.

Water is also an important aspect with regards to the nutrition of your body. Whether through sweat or urination, your body loses mass amounts of water each day. In order for your body to maintain its health for longer periods of time, you must replace the water you lose.

There are many different myths that surround the approximate amount of water intake that the body requires, but “Drinking 6 to 8 glasses of fluid each day generally ensures that the body is getting enough water.”

Always remember that if you decide to take vitamin supplements, protein supplements, digestive supplements, or anything else - that these supplements must compliment a nutritious diet. You still need to eat proper meals that are full of nutrients, as well as being certain to engage in activities. Anyone can adopt a healthy lifestyle, but its up to you to discover what best suits your schedule and your body.

Q&A - Fasting

March 27th, 2006

Client Question: I’ve always understood that a fast could wreck a person’s metabolism. And that your body would cannibalize your muscle if you are not eating anything - protein especially.

I do not have a weight problem but subscribed to your newsletter to maximize my health.

Please advise.

Answer: I actually never recommend a “fast” for anyone, mostly due to the same reasons you suggest. What I do suggest however is a seasonal “Cleanse” to rid a person’s body of all the toxins that tend to accumulate over the months. During which time, fresh vegetable juices and water is consumed in ample quantities to maintain a very healthy metabolism.

That’s not to say that a person will burn fat during that time (a healthy metabolism only allows a person to properly assimilate the nutrients from the foods they eat AND burn fat when it comes time to burn fat - but a healthy metabolism does not burn fat all by itself).

The person more than likely will not burn fat during the cleanse because there isn’t sufficient protein in the diet to do so, however, after the cleanse, a person’s metabolism is usually far stronger and healthier, as is every other cell and system in their body - making it easier to burn fat from that point forward.

If you want this whole process detailed for you, than get the Living Health Weight Loss audio (www.LivingHealthWeightLoss.com)– there’s a full cleanse outlined for you as well as an amazingly healthy, fat burning diet and lifestyle as well.

How To Double the Results Your Currently Getting…

February 23rd, 2006

I’ve been blessed in my life to have worked with so many people who have successfully lost weight and kept it off – who have successfully reshaped their body from ordinary to extraordinary – who have taken themselves from tired and lethargic to energy rich.

And the folks who have not only been able to reach their goals, but have been successful in maintaining their goals for good – have all had commonalities in their lives…

Now I’m certainly not saying that every successful person uses these techniques – but I’ll tell you this – anyone who does implement them into their lives will find it far easier to maintain the results they’ve worked so hard for.

After all – we’re not here to get temporary results – we’re here to transform our body and our energy level – for good..

Now the first common trait most successful people have is their use of Mentors or coaches in their lives.

If you would like to learn from 2 of my mentors check this out:
http://www.JimRohnSpecials.com

Each time you set out to achieve a new goal with your body or your health – it’s important to have a mentor who has already reached the goal you’re currently striving to achieve. You could literally cut years off of your efforts by modeling the successful traits of those who have already achieved your goals.

Every successful person uses mentors.

I personally have many of them.

I have mentors for my financial growth, for my spiritual growth, my health, for my relationships. I have mentors for almost everything that I do in life, because I know that as soon as I set another goal, if it’s something that I’ve never done before, I need to find a mentor who’s already done it and done it successfully so that I can accomplish that project really quickly and smoothly and then go onto the next project in my life.

You see, your goal is not to keep losing weight – you want to lose it, then move onto other goals in your life without ever having to worry about your weight ever again.

Now there’s 3 easy ways to use mentors…

You could read about people who have achieved the same physical goals that you have. There’s books, there’s tapes, there’s videos all over the place. As long as you keep focused on weight loss, keep reading about it, keep watching things about it, keep listening to things about it, you’re going to stay focused on it and that will accelerate you towards your goal.

Again – here’s one of the top resources for books and audio’s from some of the world’s top mentors: http://www.JimRohnSpecials.com

Or, you could hire a coach or a trainer. Coaches and personal trainers are great if they have enough experience helping others like you to reach similar goals.

Or, you could get a partner who’s already done what you want to do with your body.

But please remember that … you want to be motivated by the actions your partner is taking, but praise yourself for the progress you’re making.

Let me repeat that for you … You want to be motivated by the actions they’re taking, but praise yourself for the progress you’re making.

A good partner will pull you up with motivation. They’re not going to anchor you down with excuses. You need to surround yourself with those who have either accomplished similar physical goals or those who are passionate and positively pursuing similar goals as you.

No negative people are allowed in your life right now. For the next few weeks, omit all negative people or limit your exposure to them if they’re in your family. I know families are usually not the most supportive when it comes to dieting or exercising. They want to love you. They want to stroke you along.

They want to tell you you’re doing good … even though you what you really need is a little extra push … they’re not going to be the ones to help you out and push you.

If they’re negative or they’re not pulling you up, then they’re pushing you down. Omit negative people from your life and if they’re in your family just limit the amount of time that you spend around them until you’ve built up enough mental toughness to stay focused on your goal no matter what people around you say.

Cycling Your Calories

January 23rd, 2006

Ever wondered how you can drop body fat, and lose weight without dieting (at least not in the normal sence of the word)?

Well you can lose all that excess weight if you implement this one technique into whatever diet you’re currently following…

…Yes that means that you could even lose weight if you’re eating pizza and cookies, but that’s not what I’m suggesting.

However, if that were your normal diet and you simply implemented this one technique into your day, you would definetely lose weight - but if you combine this with a healthy diet like the one laid out for you in Maximize Your Metabolism then the results you get will be astonishing.

Here the concept in a nutshell…

It’s not just important to eat 5 or 6 small to medium meals that consist of lean protein and loads of fresh vegetables, it’s not just important to fully hydrate your body by drinking at least 1 cup of plain fresh water for every 14 – 20 pounds of bodyweight you now carry…But there’s 1 additional, very importantly piece to the metabolic enhancing and weight loss puzzle…

You must cycle your calorie intake!

You see…if you’re accustomed to eating 2000 calories per day, and living a relatively active lifestyle – then your metabolism is accustomed to burning up about that amount of energy – But if you then drop 500–1000 calories from your diet (mostly from complex carbohydrates), your body is going to continue to burn about 2000 per day for about 24 – 48 hours.

So if it’s still burning 2000 or so calories, but you’re only giving it 1500 calories, it must find those calories elsewhere – and if you’re following a healthy diet and a healthy exercise regimen as outlined in the program, then your body will find those additional calories in your body fat. Meaning that you’re actually forcing your body to burn all that extra body fat as energy for
the day.

But beware, you cannot maintain this low calorie intake for too long – in fact I don’t ever suggest that my clients maintain it for longer than 2 – 3 days.
So after a few days of this lower calorie intake, you need to raise your calories up to your normal intake (2000 calories in this example) for at least another 3 days.

The great part about this aspect of the program is that your metabolism will keep increasing each time you properly cycle your calorie intake until it reaches it’s peak fat burning level.

So here’s a sample of what your week might look like:

Saturday and Sunday = regular calorie intake

Monday & Tuesday = drop 500 – 1000 calories from your diet (dropping mostly complex carbs while maintaining your lean protein and your raw vegetable intake).

Wednesday, Thursday & Friday = regular calorie intake

Hey Guys, if you want to get extraordinary results, than it must be on your terms! That’s why I’m giving you so much flexibility here and helping you to create your own diet! You must put yourself into this diet, make it fun and enjoyable – it’s got to be an extension of you and your lifestyle, but stick to the basics as outlined here.

And most of all, be persistent!

If you want this whole process done for you, than get the book Maximize Your Metabolism – there’s a full diet outlined in the book for you.

Possible Harmful Effects Caused By Past Diets

January 5th, 2006

Over the past few days, ever since New Years Eve, The National Metabolic & Longevity Research Center has been bombarded with questions about the possible harmful effects that their past diets might have caused.

It seems like everyone’s tried diet after diet in the past and are now concerned with how to fix any internal problems they may have caused.

Well to help alleviate some of the fear that’s out there, Christopher Guerriero. Founder of the NM&L Research Center answers a few of the basic questions here:

Q: “Could I have caused permanent damage by following a high protein diet?”

A: If you haven’t yet experienced any major health problems, then it’s not too late to reverse many, if not all of the negative side effects that usually follow a program like that.

Q: “I think I’ve damaged myself internally by following this fad diets (like atkns, the 3-hr diet, or the sonoma dt) … HELP!“

A: First, relax! Then simply stop doing the things that you know are killing you, and start doing things that have been proven to make you healthier, leaner, and more energetic.

For example…every meal should have it’s foundation in fresh, preferably raw vegetables, then you should add a small portion of lean protein such as egg white, fish, chicken, or turkey. That’s it. That simple change will help you reverse many of the toxic effects of an unhealthy diet – and re-start the fat-burning process, getting you back into a tight, lean body.

Q: “I’m afraid to stop this way of eating, for fear of gaining it (my fat) back, what do you suggest?”

A: It’s time to make a change. It’s time to re-train your metabolism, and begin triggering the correct chemicals within your body to help you automatically burn body-fat naturally. By following a healthy diet program that’s proven to get you healthy and lean fast, your body WILL transform from unhealthy to healthy, from unfit to fit, and from ordinary to extraordinary.

”How Do Models and Actresses Stay So Young Looking?

January 3rd, 2006

2006 marks the year that more New Years Resolutioner’s are seeking out ways to look and feel younger compared to those who want to drop some pounds.

…but don’t fret, my main focus will continue to be providing you with the most cutting edge information about how to have a tight, lean, healthy, sexy body, but…

To help folks get off on the right foot, here’s the basic foundation to looking young and vibrant:

The primary cause of all premature aging, is living an acid lifestyle.
Once you switch from doing things that cause acid to build up in your body and start doing things to create an alkaline environment in your body, you’ll immediately begin to look younger, you’ll immediately begin to have more energy, and you’ll immediately begin to feel far better about yourself.
But what constitutes an alkaline lifestyle?

Well, everything we’re going to cover over the next several weeks (or everything that’s covered in your audio program) constitutes an alkaline lifestyle. Plus it helps your body to rid itself of acid and stress.

But first and foremost, over and above all the other techniques that we’re going to talk about is diet. So we want to start with your diet when we’re talking about trying to alkalize your system.

Before we go into what an alkaline diet is, I’m going to go over what an acid diet is, which is a diet or a lifestyle or foods that you’re putting into your body that are causing you to build up acid and build up stress inside of your system.

On the audio program I cover an extensive list of all the foods you need to avoid - foods that actually cause your body to age faster, but since we don’t have the space to cover everything in detail here I’m going to condense the list for you to the following:

>> Sugars and sugar-containing foods
>> yeasts, breads and pastries
>> raised baked goods, things like breads, rolls, and cakes
>> Alcoholic beverages, all alcoholic beverages cause acidity in the body
>> Condiments and sauces which are things like mustards, tomato sauce, soy sauce, horseradish, vinegar of all sorts, mayonnaise, salad dressing, things like that.
>> Processed or smoked meats, all processed and smoked meats cause acid in the body.
>> Sodas, depending on where you are in the world, you may call a soda a soft drink or a pop or something like that, but all sodas. There’s absolutely nothing good in sodas. Every single ingredient in a soda causes an acid build up in your body.
…and that’s just the short list.

Well, it’s time to learn about an alkaline diet or an alkaline lifestyle.
This is the diet that’s going to help you live a lot longer, it’s going to help you be a lot healthier and happier during that long life, and it’s going to help you look a lot stronger and sexier.

In order for your diet to alkalize your body, it must be rich in nutrient-dense foods, in clean water, in lean healthy protein, and it’s also got to be free of most toxins. And I say “most toxins” because in today’s environment, it’s very difficult to avoid all toxins because there are toxins in everything around us.

Foods that promote a strong, healthy looking, energy-rich, alkaline body are raw, preferably organic, vegetables, and this is the single most important step that you could take today to alkalize your system, eating fresh, raw, preferably organic, vegetables allows your body to actually use the live enzymes, the life inside of those vegetables, and the energy from those vegetables, to energize and build your health from within you.

So you’re building health and you’re helping reduce signs of aging from the inside out.

Eat raw vegetables, preferably organic, all day long. Juice them at least one or two times a day if you can. If you can’t juice them or you don’t like eating vegetables on a regular basis, then get yourself a greens drink and drink that at least one or two times a day.

If you don’t know a lot about greens drinks or you don’t know how to juice or what juicing is all about, that’s fine. We’re going to get a little more in depth with that when we get to the supplements section in a few weeks.

But that’s it. That’s the whole list. An alkaline diet consists of loads of fresh, raw, preferably organic, vegetables, lean sources of poultry in each meal like fish or chicken and turkey (and if you’re getting chicken and turkey, try to make them organic or free-range because that means that you’re avoiding the toxins in there), and egg whites.

And also fresh water, preferably distilled water because the distilled water is going to help pull out any of the impurities that are in your system.
If you don’t want to get that strict yet, then at least begin taking out all the foods from the acid list, especially those loaded with preservatives and other chemicals, and then slowly work your way into adding the really nutrient-dense foods like the organic vegetables, the lean sources of clean protein and the fresh water.

Each of the technique we cover in our time together will help you look and feel younger - but the real power in this program is to combine as many of these techniques as possible so you get DRAMATIC results! What’s your favorite weight loss drug?

December 26th, 2005

What’s America’s Favorite weight loss d.r.u.g?

You guessed it—caffeine.

We use more caffeine than all other drugs—legal or illegal—combined. Want to know what the stuff is doing to your body and your health? Here’s a quick overview.

BACKGROUND
If you start the day with a strong cup of coffee or tea, you’re not alone. Americans ingest the caffeine equivalent of 530 million cups of coffee every day. Caffeine is the world’s most popular mood-altering drug. It’s also one of the oldest: according to archaeologists, man has been brewing beverages from caffeine-based plants since the Stone Age.

HOW IT PICKS YOU UP
Caffeine doesn’t keep you awake by supplying extra energy; rather, it fools your body into thinking it isn’t tired.
• When your brain is tired and wants to slow down, it releases a chemical called adenosine.• Adenosine travels to special cells called receptors, where it goes to work counteracting the chemicals that stimulate your brain.
• Caffeine mimics adenosine; so it can “plug up” your receptors and prevent adenosine from getting through. Result: Your brain never gets the signal to slow down, and keeps building up stimulants.

JAVA JUNKIES
• After a while, your brain figures out what’s going on, and increases the number of receptor cells so it has enough for both caffeine and adenosine.
• When that happens, caffeine can’t keep you awake anymore… unless you increase the amount you drink so it can “plug up” the new receptor cells as well.
• This whole process only takes about a week. In that time, you essentially become a caffeine addict. Your brain is literally restructuring itself to run on caffeine; take the caffeine away and your brain has too many receptor cells to operate properly.
• If you quit ingesting caffeine “cold turkey,” your brain begins to reduce the number of receptors right away. But the process takes about two weeks, and during that time your body sends out mild “distress signals” in the form of headaches, lethargy, fatigue, muscle pain, nausea, and sometimes even stiffness and flu-like symptoms. As a result, most doctors recommend cutting out caffeine gradually.

CAFFEINE’S EFFECTS
• Good: Caffeine has been scientifically proven to temporarily increase alertness, comprehension, memory, reflexes, and even the rate of learning. It also helps increase clarity of thought.
• Bad: Too much caffeine can cause hand tremors, loss of coordination or appetite, insomnia, and in extreme cases, trembling, nausea, heart palpitations, and diarrhea.
• Widely varying the amount of caffeine you ingest can put a strain on your liver, pancreas, heart, and nervous system. And if you’re prone to ulcers, caffeine can make your situation worse.
• If you manage to consume the equivalent of 70-100 cups of coffee in one sitting, you’ll experience convulsions, and may even die.

CAFFEINE FACTS
• The average American drinks 210 milligrams of caffeine a day. That’s equal to 2-3 cups of coffee, depending on how strong it is.
• How you make your coffee has a lot to do with how much caffeine you get. Instant coffee contains 65 milligrams of caffeine per serving; coffee brewed in a percolator has 80 milligrams; and coffee made using the “drip method” has 155 milligrams.
• Top four sources of caffeine in the American diet: coffee, soft drinks, tea, and chocolate, in that order. The average American gets 75% of their caffeine from coffee. Other sources include over-the-counter pain killers, appetite suppressants, cold remedies, and some prescription drugs.
• What happens to the caffeine that’s removed from decaf coffee? Most of it is sold to soda companies and put into soft drinks. (Cola contains some caffeine naturally, but they like to add even more.)
• Do you drink more caffeine than your kids do? If you correct for body weight, probably not. Pound for pound, kids often get as much caffeine from chocolate and soft drinks as their parents get from coffee, tea, and other sources.

LONGEVITY FOODS

December 7th, 2005

A handful of specific foods — if eaten every day—can increase life expectancy by as much as 6.6 years.

It has long been known that some individual foods—garlic and salmon, for example —can increase life-span by a certain amount. But a new study suggests that the longevity benefits of these foods are cumulative. In other words, you can enjoy an additional longevity benefit for each of these foods that you add to your daily diet.

The optimum longevity diet includes four servings of fish per week (preferrably fish high in Omega fatty acids like Alaskan or Wild Salmon) and a daily intake of berries and vegetables, almonds and garlic.

The group reviewed the literature on how much each food cuts heart disease, blood pressure or cholesterol levels. A daily intake fish high in omega acids, for instance, reduces the incidence of heart disease by 32 percent.

They then worked out the combined effect of all these foods. Men who adopted the diet lived an average of 6.6 years longer than those who didn’t. In addition, they enjoyed 9 more cardiovascular disease-free years during that lifetime than those not on the diet. The corresponding differences in women were 4.8 and 8.1, respectively.

The international team of researchers believes that the diet is a safe, effective and nonpharmacological way to reduce deaths from cardiovascular disease and increase life expectancy. The study appeared in the December 18, 2004 issue of the British Medical Journal.

Watch out Starbucks…

December 5th, 2005

Forget the espresso and Starbucks’ chai tea. Thick, light green mustaches are appearing in some parts of the West Coast and the trend seems poised to sweep across North America. A very potent green tea called Matcha is the cause. It’s become all the rage in Vancouver—right in Starbucks’ backyard— and interest is ramping up in California.

East Coasters are still forced to sort through the seaweed and sushi rice on the shelves of Asian markets for Matcha. But that’s about to change. It’s expected to begin taking over coffeehouse menus and going mainstream in lattes, smoothies and facials.

Matcha, imported from Japan, is completely different from other teas or coffees. You don’t make it by passing hot water through the leaves. The matcha leaves are literally crushed by the server into a concoction to which water is added. In other words, you end up consuming the actual leaves. And that’s why matcha contains much higher concentrations of catechins and vitamins than your average tea.

In addition to offering the lowest caffeine level of any green tea, Matcha’s high L-theanine content has been said to relax the brain, muscles and blood vessels (but our research is still not conclusive). And it’s also an antioxidant powerhouse. A cup of Matcha contains 70 times the antioxidants of a cup of orange juice and nine times the beta-carotene of a serving of spinach.

For these reasons, a growing legion of customers is willing to wait the 3 minutes it takes for their matcha to be mixed in a traditional Japanese bowl with a wooden whisk. The entire Matcha plant is ground into a powder. Each cup is individually blended by hand into water that is heated to a precise temperature.

How I beat JP at Whirlyball

November 23rd, 2005

This edition isn’t filled with loads of health and longevity insights like all the others – but it’ll give you an inside peak at the last few days in my life.

I was recently invited to speak at a publishing seminar in Michigan, where I was honored to share the stage with several amazing speakers.

The location that this seminar was held in was far different than the locations which I normally host my seminars. As many of you probably know, my seminars are held in large, elegant conference halls with a big stage and lots of lights and music - it’s a fun, motivating, educational experience - but this seminar was much different…

…this seminar was held in a small, but very comfortable environment - which was great!!!

It’s rare that I have a chance to talk on a personal level with everyone in the audience, but in this case - it was easy to hang out with, and personally coach each individual.

I look forward to hosting several Maximize Your Metabolism seminars at this location in 2006 - and I’ll announce those “limited seating” seminars right here on this blog.

But let’s get to the main point of this edition…

One of the main things that sets this seminar location apart from all the rest is that the audience and the speakers have a chance to play together …

… yes there are games involved - great games - like laser tag and whirlyball.

Being able to participate in games like these after a full day of sitting in a seminar is truly a great way to end the day - and a fun way to get to know the speakers on a more personal level.

Two of my friends happen to be at this event - JP and Deb Micek.

JP and Deb are 2 of the brightest business coaches around, but JP isn’t all that great at whirlyball - it’s really a shame because his wife (who was on my team) kicked his butt pretty badly.

…and if that’s not the whole truth - at least that’s the truth as I remember it :-)

If you’re in business and you want to excel this year - I highly recommend that you start reading JP and Deb’s free blog at: http://Biz-OwnersBlog.com

All the best…

This Exercise WILL Transform You…

November 21st, 2005

I was speaking to a great woman the other day, she’s one of my clients who I have a tremendous amount of respect for, and we came to a conclusion which I’d like you to participate in…

We decided that a person can make far greater advancements in their life (and in their pursuit of a great body) if they “teach”, rather than just sitting back and learning from me. So here’s an amazing exercise that she and I developed that I invite you to do as well…

If you’re having any troubles with late night cravings, or sticking to your program in social situations, or finding time to exercise, or visualizing yourself having already achieved your goal body, or any other part of this program … then take on the roll of teacher and “teach” someone else how to overcome that obstacle.

Here’s what I’m suggesting…

Sit down and write out, in detail, an article that I’ll print in one of my newsletters or on my blog site (if you want…obviously I wouldn’t print anything unless I had your written approval first and even then I wouldn’t put your name on it unless you specifically asked me to). In that article “teach” the audience how to overcome that obstacle.

This exercise WILL transform you from someone who has difficulty reaching a goal, into someone who has achieved their goal. Do this exercise for each and every obstacle you encounter, and I promise you, you’ll be amazed, shocked, and very grateful for the results you experience.

Once you write your article - send it to my assistant (Emily), and I promise to personally read it: EWaters@MaximizeYourMetabolism.com

I look forward to reading your article!!!
